A Midsummer Night’s Dream is arguably William Shakespeare’s most popular comedy. The plot focuses on four parallel stories: the confusing adventures of four young lovers, the engagement of the Duke of Athens to the Amazonian Queen, a group of amateur actors, and the marital problems of the Fairy King and Queen.
To escape an arranged marriage, two of the lovers elope into the enchanted forest while the other pair, at odds with one another, follow in pursuit. Puck, a mischievous imp, gets involved but ultimately makes matters worse with the help of a poisoned flower. Chaos ensues when everyone’s world gets turned upside down to which Lysander laments, “The course of true love never did run smooth.” Will love win out in the end? Come to the fall play to find out!

Urinetown: The Musical
April 20 - 22 & 26 - 28 @7pm
April 21st & 22nd @ 2pm
** 4/21 @ 2pm = Understudy Performance **
In the not-so-distant future, a terrible water shortage and 20-year drought has led to a government ban on private toilets and a proliferation of paid public toilets, owned and operated by a single megalomaniac company: the Urine Good Company. If the poor don’t obey the strict laws prohibiting free urination, they’ll be sent to the dreaded and mysterious “Urinetown.” After too long under the heel of the malevolent Caldwell B. Cladwell, the poor stage a revolt, led by a brave young hero, fighting tooth and nail for the freedom to pee “wherever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like, and with whomever you like.” A brilliant satire modeled off the plays of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht and winner of 3 Tony Awards, Urinetown is a wickedly funny, fast-paced, and surprisingly intelligent comedic romp that deals with the contemporary themes of capitalism, corruption, supply and demand, advocacy, and finding hope in the midst of dark times.
