How do I pick an audition song?
This is a multi part question. (1) you need to know your vocal range so you can pick the right song. (2) Then you need to consider the style of the show and does your song compliment this? i.e. don't use a rock song to audition for The Sound of Music. (3) Research!! Listen to Spotify, Google search "Male/Female Musical Theatre Songs" or "Good Musical Theatre Audition Songs". (4) Fundamentally, we just want to hear you at your best. So when in doubt sing something that you know will impress (shows your highest note, demonstrates range or control, is a strong personality, plays up your comedic timing, or is emotionally strong, etc)
